LEARNING OF EXALTATION OF PLANETS
THROUGH SHRI R.G.RAO’S METHOD OF NADI ASTROLOGY
We know that there are 12 signs or Rashis in our zodiac from
Mesha Rashi to Meena Rashi.Only 7 visible planets will get exalted/debilitated
in respective Rashis/Signs.Most of the traditional Astrologers and students of
Astrology know about exaltation of planets along with their degrees or
longitudes. But most of them don’t know why planets are exalted in a particular
Rashi. Now let us look at these exaltations from the perspective of our age old
Maharshis like Bhrigu,Nandikeshwara and Saptarishis.
1)
SURYA : Surya
is exalted in Mesha Rashi and this Rashi is an indicator of commander and Surya
being the king, will be honoured in this Rashi.Surya is concept of Atma /Soul
which requires power where Kuja/Mars is the power.Hence Surya/Sun is exalted in
Mesha Rashi. There is another way of interpretation also.Surya is the lord of
Simha Rashi ,an embodiment of Lord Shiva.Mesha Rashi Lord Kuja is represented
as Lord Skanda/Lord Subrahmanya, the son of Lord Shiva.Hence father is given
respect in son’s house. So Surya is exalted in Mesha Rashi.
2)
CHANDRA : Chandra/Moon
is exalted in Vrishabha Rashi.Chandra is the embodying concept of Godess Mother
Parvathi and Godess Mother is considered as Vrishabha Vahane.Another
interpretation is Vrishabha Rashi is the sign of Daughter -in-Law ( Shukra )
for Chandra/Moon.Therefor Chandra/Moon is exalted in Vrishabha Rashi.
3)
KUJA : Kuja is
exalted in Makara Rashi/Capricorn sign whose lord is Shani. As per Nadi
Jyotisha,Makara Rashi indicates Shivamsha and 7th to Makara Rashi
which is Karkataka Rashi whose Lord Chandra/Moon is the embodiment of Mother
Parvathi.Kuja is represented by Lord Shanmukha or Lord Subrahmanya who is the son of Lord Shiva & Mother
Parvathi. So Kuja exalted in Makara Rashi which is the swakshetra of Shani
indicated by Lord Shiva and this clearly indicates Son Kuja/Lord Subrahmanya is
sitting on the lap of Lord Shiva indicated by Makara Rashi lord Shani.
Here arises a question., Kumbha Rashi
is also lorded by Shani, then why Kuja is not exalted in Kumbha Rashi. Here the
logic is 7th from Kumbha Rashi is Simha Rashi whose Lord is Surya
which indicates Trigunatma ( In the morning as Lord Brahma,in the afternoon as
Lord Shiva and in the evening as Lord Vishnu ).Hence 7th to Simha
Rashi is Kumbha Rashi which indicates Chaya,( Shadow ) the wife of Lord Surya
from whom Lord Shani was born.So Kuja must be exalted in MakarRashi and not in
Kumbha Rashi.
4)
BUDHA : Budha
is represented by Lord Vishnu when he is with a male planet. When alone,he
becomes a female indicating Mohini Rupa.Budha is Alankara Priya which indicates
he likes adornment and also he is fond of female ( Stree Priya ).So in Kanya
Rashi Budha become exalted showing these charcters. In
other Rashis,he does not become showy.Hence Budha becomes exalted in Kanya
Rashi.
5)
GURU : Guru
becomes exalted in Karkataka Rashi/Cancer sign. The Lord of this Rashi is
Chandra/Moon which indicates Ksheera Sagara or oceanic concept of milk. Here
Lord Vishnu rests on Lord Shesha. When Guru/Brihaspati enters Karkataka
Rashi/Cancer sign,He will be respected by Lord Vishnu, hence Guru is exalted in
this Rashi.Another interpretation is the lord of Karkataka Rashi is
Chandra/Moon who is the embodiment of Mother Parvathi and when Guru enters this
Rashi,SHE respects Guru, thus Guru is exalted in this Rashi.
6)
SHUKRA : He is
exalted in Meena Rashi which indicates feet of Lord Vishnu who rests on Lord
Shesha and Mother Maha Lakshmi is pressing Lord’s feet.Mother Maha Lakshmi is
the embodiment of planet Shukra,so He gets exalted in Meena Rashi.
7)
SHANI : Shani
is exalted in Tula Rashi lorded by Shukra which is His Moola Trikona Rashi
also.Shukra is the Karaka for wealth or money. To get wealth/money one has to
work hard and as Shani is the Karaka of Karma,by doing Karmas one will have
good wealth and money.Hence Shani, the Karma Karaka is exalted in Tula Rashi.
Rahu & Ketu are shadowy planets which can not be
seen through naked eyes.Hence they don’t have exaltation Rashis as mentioned in
Nadi Texts.
